Programme Manager (Technical Lead) - Education and Skills Programme, Ethiopia


About the Role

Education Development Trust is seeking a highly qualified Programme Manager (Technical Lead) to spearhead the mobilization and implementation of an exciting new education and skills program in Ethiopia, in collaboration with consortium partners. This program aims to strengthen the relevance and quality of secondary education, ensuring secondary students successfully transition to tertiary education or the world of work by equipping them with relevant skills, knowledge, and attitudes through enhanced implementation of the competency-based curriculum.

The Programme Manager (Technical Lead) will lead the program and manage the delivery staff. They will work closely with regional teams, consortium partners, and the Project Management Unit (PMU) to achieve agreed educational outcomes. This includes ensuring adherence to client and organizational policies and procedures, maintaining professional relationships with the client, senior government officials, and partners. They will also guide and oversee the development and implementation of various measures to assist teachers and school leaders in delivering the competency-based curriculum in secondary schools, and support young people from marginalized communities in successfully transitioning to post-secondary study or work.


Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience in leading an education or skills program.
  • Experience in managing complex, large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders, including international teams and external partners.
  • Experience in delivery of education projects.
  • Knowledge of gender and/or youth issues.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Financial management skills, including budgeting, cost control, and ensuring financial compliance with project requirements.

Employment Details

  • Employment Type: Full-Time | Contract

  • Salary: US$2300 - US$2500 gross + benefits
