Job Post: Project Accountant

Job Summary:

The Project Accountant is responsible for managing the financial aspects of projects, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This role involves collaborating with project coordinators, Sub-sub Recipients (SSR), and stakeholders to monitor project costs, analyze financial data, and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures. The Project Accountant will prepare detailed and consolidated financial reports, track expenditures, and assist in the preparation of project budgets, ensuring that all financial metrics are aligned with the Association's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain project budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor project expenses and ensure adherence to financial plans.
• Prepare regular financial reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Conduct variance analysis and identify areas for cost savings.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in project accounting or financial management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Peachtree, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Four (4) years of relevant experience in the NGO setup.
