Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Assignment Period: June 2026 – May 2027, up to 100 working days

Project: Private Sector Support (PSS) Along the Horticulture and Oilseed Agriculture Value Chains in the GIZ Strengthening Rural Value Chain II Project (SRVC II)

The Project

The SRVC II project is a comprehensive agricultural value chain development (VCD) project, working along selected agricultural value chains in the horticulture and oilseeds sub-sectors. The project aims to strengthen private sector development, supply chain management and post-harvest management. It works with various public and private partners, including agricultural input and service providers, agricultural producers and processors as well as business associations to foster public-private collaboration and public-private dialogue (PPD).

Sequa has received the mandate from GIZ SRVC II to implement projects along the horticulture and oilseed agriculture value chains. The project aims to support SMEs and farmer organizations in achieving business growth and stronger market integration by improving service delivery of relevant Business Membership Organizations (BMOs) and strengthening the capacity of targeted SMEs along the value chains in Ethiopia.

Scope of the Assignment

The objective of this assignment is to provide operational coordination and logistical support for the effective implementation of project activities. The Project Operations Coordinator will lead the planning and organization of workshops, trainings, meetings, and stakeholder engagement events, ensuring timely execution and compliance with project requirements. The role includes coordinating logistics, stakeholder communication, activity scheduling, documentation, reporting, and administrative support to facilitate smooth project operations and contribute to the achievement of project objectives and deliverables.

Tasks, Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Organize and coordinate trainings, workshops, meetings, field visits, and project events.
  • Prepare participant lists, attendance sheets, and evaluation forms.
  • Coordinate venue booking, accommodation, transportation, catering, and logistical arrangements.
  • Ensure training materials and equipment are available and properly managed.
  • Work closely with the Finance Coordinator to ensure proper financial management of project activities.
  • Coordinate the processing of participant per diems, transportation reimbursements, and vendor payments.
  • Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Assist in budget tracking and expenditure forecasting.
  • Follow up on financial documentation and ensure completeness of supporting documents.
  • Ensure all financial transactions related to project activities comply with organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Sociology, Social Work, or related field.
  • Proven experience working on GIZ-funded or other donor-funded private sector development projects.
  • Experience in organizing trainings, workshops, and events.
  • Experience in budget monitoring and financial administration.

Skills and Working Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project coordination, capacity building, operations, administration, or related roles.
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
  • Excellent financial and administrative management skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
